Outreach Task Force

The Community Outreach Task Force was created by Heart of Chaos Co-Directors Anabella Pinon and Miguel Machuca in 2005. By partnering with guest artists and art groups the program benefits the community at large though mentorship of at risk youth. Volunteer artists teach weekly art classes in three living units of Santa Clara County’s Juvenile Hall building a foundation for the youth to build upon after they are released. The program provides 45 units of service a week.

Upon release the youth are mentored by Heart of Chaos and encouraged to participate in exhibits and events. Through donations and sponsorships we are able to provide them with art supplies to keep their creative
fires burning.

Plans for the Future
In the future the Task Force will partner with Catalyst for Youth to provide employment to released youth through Heart of Chaos run businesses. We are currently seeking funding for this initiative. If you would like to help fund this new program please contact Catalyst for Youth’s Executive Director Joanne Hobbs.

Volunteers Needed
We always welcome new volunteers to our Community Outreach Task Force. Do you feel inspired to teach a class? Perhaps you want to mentor and inspire one of our youth upon their release. To get involved in the Community Outreach Task Force please contact Joanne Hobbs.
