Q&A with the Artist
Q: How would you characterize your work?
A: I am and always have been drawn to color, bold and bright and paired unconventionally, I love drawing the viewer into the piece with the initial attraction to color. And since spring is around the corner and the valley is popping with bursts of bright colors it seemed to be a well matched theme to offer to you "Colorful Chaos."

Q: What is your favorite medium and why? What is your range of mediums?
A: Acrylic paints. I manipulate the paint on the canvas several  ways and I can achieve this best with acrylics. I do like to mix mediums occasionally. I find pieces of mirror can bring a depth and a whole new dimension to a piece that adds light and an unknown element with every view, the viewer's own reflection.

Q: Where have you studied art? Where have you exhibited work?
A:I haven't formally studied since some beginning courses at SJSU many years ago. I have worked with PAC Sessions in Downtown SJ, ARTSF and City Art, both in San Francisco. I have had installations in businesses ranging from Salons in Los Gatos to Restaurants and Nightclubs in San Francisco. I recently had a solo show for 3 months at Borders Books.

Q: What is your favorite work? And what is your favorite response from others to your work?
A: It's hard to say I have a favorite, I usually have moved on and away from a piece the minute it's finished. I like hearing how people will see such very different images and objects in the same exact piece. I like the way each individual's imagination plays a part in the content of the work.

Q: Where are you going now? What direction is calling you?
A: I am finding myself experimenting with geometrical shapes with a retro color pallet.

Q: How has Heart of Chaos been a benefited you?
A: By providing local artists venues to have their work seen and hopefully enjoyed by people that would never have been exposed to it, Heart of Chaos does an immeasurable service for the artist and the viewer.
